Internet Attorney Disclaimer

We want to thank you for visiting our humble web site and reviewing our online Q&A (which may be provided by third party websites.) But since we are attorneys, we thought we should provide disclaimers and warnings that lawyers are famous for boring people with:

I. Visiting any one of our Web Sites or reading our Q&A posts does not create an Attorney-Client relationship.

Our web sites and the third party Q&A sites contain general information about our general practice firm for general public. None of the information contained in this site or any of our Q&A posts on third party sites is intended as legal advice. You should neither act nor refrain from acting based on information obtained from any of our postings. None of the information contained in any of our postings or websites is privileged or confidential. The information that is contained in this site or our postings to third parties does not necessarily reflect the opinions of The Law Office of David L. Leon, P.C., or any of its lawyers, employees, clients, or co-counsel. Unless you sign a contract with our firm, and we accept employment, we’re not your lawyer and we don’t represent you.

II. Contact by email or internet relay chat (IRC) does not create an Attorney-Client relationship.

Ok, now we are only going to say this once:
contact by email or IRC does not create an attorney-client relationship! No, we don’t have a fear of commitment or relationships. We just provide electronic mail and IRC as a convenient way for the inquisitive public to contact us about nonconfidential matters, our website, the weather, or anything else. If you contact the firm by email, IRC, or Q&A through a third party site, phone or in person regarding a matter for which the firm does not represent you, any information you communicate may not be treated as privileged or confidential because…contact by email or IRC does not create an attorney-client relationship! That means we can blab it to everybody, especially parties that we may be representing that may be adverse to you. If you would like to retain the services of our firm, please feel free to call or email us to inquire how to do so, just remember: contact by email or IRC does not create an attorney-client relationship! (Yes, this includes Q&A postings on third party sites, as well.)

(You should always mention the name of an adverse party first, before you divulge ANY facts to us because…
contact by email or IRC does not create an attorney-client relationship!) If you want to create an attorney client releationship with us, you MUST sign an attorney client agreement with our firm. And no, posting to our web log (blog/blawg) doesn’t count, either.

III. Email and IRC chat communications are not confidential, privileged, or secure. Do not email us or use IRC if you wish to share any confidential information. Also, you must immediately identify any adverse parties to us when you Contact Us.

Please remember that the Internet is insecure. This means that in addition to having low self-esteem, email and IRC communications could be intercepted by third parties (including opposing parties, nosey neighbors, and that weird guy down the street.) Therefore, messages sent to our firm or any of its employees should not contain sensitive or confidential information unless the messages are adequately encrypted. Although we do accept credit card payments, you should not email or communicate your credit card information via IRC (unless you want that weird guy down the street to go on a shopping spree at your expense.) Also, if you represent or are affliliated with a party that is adverse to us or one of our clients, then you do not have permission to use our web site, or our IRC service, and you are strictly prohibited from doing so.

IV. We are NOT responsible for content of sites listed on Our other sites page. Visit them at your own risk.

This web site is only updated every once in awhile (whenever there is nothing good on TV.) Therefore, additional facts, new cases, unforeseen developments or lousy television reruns may affect some of our listings. Although we make an effort to keep things current, there is no guarantee that the links provided are correct, complete, up-to-date, or even all that useful. We provide these links in order to aid in the search for other information of interest and unless otherwise stated, do not imply that The Law Office of David L. Leon, P.C., is affiliated or associated with or endorses or is legally authorized to use any trade name, registered trademark, logo, seal, or other sea mammals. Unless otherwise mentioned, we do not upkeep, maintain, dust off or have professional affiliations with linked pages–we just list them. Therefore, we have no control over what the linked sites contain, and we take no responsibility for their content.

“Woe to those who make unjust laws, to those who issue oppressive decrees, to deprive the poor of their rights and withhold justice from the oppressed of my people, making widows their prey and robbing the fatherless.”
